Time to Purge Your Hot Tub!

Colorado Custom Spas | April 2024

Even with the best care and regular maintenance, some hot tubs still get a build-up of biofilm, which is a mass of microorganisms that reproduce rapidly and form globs of yuck. Biofilm can grow and fester in the piping of your hot tub, so you won’t see it until it’s a problem affecting your water quality and chemistry. That’s why it’s important to purge your hot tub to get rid of that gunk and give your hot tub a thorough, refreshing clean.

Hit an SEO Bullseye with Keyword Targeting

December 3, 2021 | The Get Smart Group

Keyword targeting is a different sport for everyone. Some people are more competitive when it comes to keywords. They know just which keywords they want to hit, and are determined to improve their scoring on the search engine scoreboard. Others aren’t the athletic type, skeptically poking their toe at keywords, asking if they really have to compete? Isn’t building a website with a bit of content enough?

No, frankly, it’s not. While it’s better than no content at all, a website that isn’t SEO optimized for keywords really isn’t doing you much good. Utilize your website content to the best of your advantage with keyword targeting.

Why You Need to Set Up Your Home Office

May 11, 2020 | The Get Smart Group

As a recent addition to the GSG team, working from home in marketing for the pool and backyard industry was a new experience for me. Sure, I had a couple of side gig hustles I did from home, but I never had an “office space” for them. I either worked at my kitchen table or sat on my couch. Aside from that, all of my day jobs since I entered the workforce required me to leave the house to work.

Now there’s nothing wrong with the kitchen table or the couch. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do with what you got. And that’s OK.

However, I highly recommend taking some time to set up your home office. Here’s why.

Social Media Marketing is the New Window Shopping

March 30, 2020 | The Get Smart Group

I, personally, love a good window display in a storefront. Here in Angels Camp, California and the surrounding small towns in the Sierra Nevada foothills, there are quaint Main Street shops that are so much fun to stroll by. I remember weekend shopping trips with my family, where we decided, “You know what? Let’s go to town, and make a day of it!” It’s something I still enjoy doing, when I’m able to. And I have, many times, popped into a store, thanks to its enticing window display, either featuring pretty antiques, fun books, or cute clothes. So, needless to say, I’m a firm believer in a well-done window display. They are a great tool for local marketing of your products.

Social media marketing works a bit like that. Instead of strolling by, however, leads and customers are scrolling by your business. With just the right image or video with a text post, you too can get leads and customers to come into your store based on your carefully curated “window” display on social media.

How to Write About Pets: 6 Steps for Writing a Book About Pets the Right Way

July 8, 2019 | Self-Publishing School

If you’re ever having a bad day at work, you may indulge in scrolling through some kind of social media app to get your mind off your problems.

As you scroll, something catches your eye, so you stop. It’s a video of cat with no front legs, learning how to jump, run, and play while still managing to be cute and adorable.

You can’t help yourself; you smile.

Not only is the kitty’s antics a little funny, but the story is also inspiring. Despite its disability, the cat forges on as if it had four legs instead of only two. Well, if that sweet little kitty can overcome its obstacle, you can get through your bad day at work.

This is the power of pet stories.
